Akash’s First Hike
Tuesday, October 16, 2007 – 10:13 pmWe went hiking in Big Basin Redwoods State Park a couple of weeks back. This State Park is California’s oldest, established in 1902. It is home to the largest continuous stand of ancient coast redwoods south of San Francisco, and consists of over 18,000 acres of old growth and recovering redwood forest, with mixed conifer and oaks. Elevations in the park vary from sea level to over 2,000 feet.

This was Akash’s first hike that he actually walked on his own. As a result, we ended up doing just a short section of the ‘Skyline To The Sea’ trail. Here are a few pictures from the hike.
